90 Legacy AWD 4spd Auto first reverse an park only gears working. guess I’ll hav to check the ECU & th TCU ={Engine Control Unit & th Transmission Control Unit} codes. I found th instructions on http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/trans.html
first I’ll throw in some Lucas tranny fix oil an recheck tranny fluid, an then check those codes again then check those dern solenoids that live under the tranny pan as per instructions found on fixya.com Seems to me to be the second/third gear solenoid.
well I’ve checked the tranny fluid, and all fuses inside and out. and pressed on all electrical connectors inside n out to ensure they r seated .I’ve driven it slow then fast then intermittent slow n fast all th while pressing th manual shift an shifting slowly then quickly all to no avail. my lilbluburu stays in first till u put it in park or reverse. sounds to me like those dern solenoid animals that live inside the tranny pan. seems I’m gonnna have to open er up and do the voltmeter amp and ohm checking I discovered on fixya.com
think I should pull down the valve body to inspect the gears and planetaries and other mechanical s?
Any suggetions?
