Noisy 2003 Legacy

Hi, I just purchased a 2003 Subaru Legacy, having traded in my 1996 Legacy w/190,000 miles on it. Was Sad to see it go. My question is this. Having now driven this 2003 car on the highway I have noticed that at speeds of 55 MPH + it sounds like there is air coming in from both the front driver & passenger side windows down in their front lower triangular corner. I have repeatedly open and closed windows to see if something was stuck, to no avail. I do not see any black rubber edging cracked or misplaced. Seems noiser than my 96 subaru. Is this just something that similar Subarus of this model & year make? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, can it be fixed. I feel like I need to turn radio up high to cover this "windy" noise. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello and welcome to the

Hello and welcome to the site. Congratulations on your 2003 Subaru Legacy. Your '96 sounds like it served you well!  I have a '96 Legacy too.

I have heard other people mention this wind noise around the windows as well. I think I've heard other people say they had to fiddle with the moulding in that area, kind of bending it downards somewhat, especially in the area above the mirror, to get the noise to stop. If the moulding isn't making a tight seal in that area the wind noise will become very noticeable.

Also I've heard of people running into that kind of trouble if they roll the window all the way up with the door open, and then close the door. So maybe some experiments related to rolling the window up with the door open and then with it closed might reveal more information.
